Skin & Pre Tan Preparation

- It is recommended that you have any facial or body waxing, threading, shaving or sugaring be done 24 hours prior to your spray tan. DO NOT get waxed afterwards. Your tan lies on the outermost layer of your skin so if you were to wax an area after being tanned that area will then be white.

- Make sure to exfoliate the best you can. Scrubs, loofas and any product with an exfoliant or that helps exfoliate is recommended before your appointment.

- Don’t apply moisturizers, lotions, oils, makeup, sunscreen, or perfumes before your session, as these can interfere with the development of your tan. If you have any of these products on your skin it can create a barrier and prevent the tanning solution from absorbing properly, which can affect the outcome of your tan.

- If you decide to wear makeup the day you get sprayed, bronzer is not recommended since there is a bronzer in the solution and may not match the rest of the tan on your body after development. If you wear eye shadow, blush or any face makeup, sleep with your makeup on that night. Do not wash it until you take a shower otherwise your face will become lighter then the rest of your body.

- Wear dark, loose, and easily cleaned clothes to avoid rubbing or pulling clothing over your fresh tan. Cotton clothing is optimal. Try to avoid socks or tight fitting clothing. Wear loose fitting shoes. Flip flops are best recommended.

- We recommend that clients wear dark undergarments or swimwear during the tanning session. The solution will not stain your clothes but you certainly do not want to wear white in case the material is absorbent. Note: wool, lycra, nylon, silk and spandex have a tendency to stain.

- Female clients over the age of 18 may choose to tan topless or in the nude. Male clients are required to wear bottoms (swimwear, boxers, shorts, briefs or thongs)

- Clients under the age of 18 must wear full swimwear unless a release is signed by the parent or guardian.

- Your hair should be pulled back so that it is off your face and neck.

- If it is raining or snowing the day you get sprayed make sure you use an umbrella and/or wear protective clothing- such as long pants, long sleeved shirts and a sweatshirt if going outside.

- It is better if you have nail polish on before you tan, even if it is just a clear coat. The solution will not stain unpolished or polished nails or toenails. It is also recommended that you get a pedicure or manicure before your appointment. DO NOT get one after your spray tan and before you shower. If you get one before your appointment make sure they wipe off any lotion or wash your hands with soap and water. It is okay, however to get a DRY pedicure or manicure after your spray tan.
